Special Session: Panel I

Tuesday, May 1, 2018 | Time: 13:30 – 15:00

Topic: The Future Research Focus for Hardware Security: Devices or Architectures
Panel Moderator: Saverio Fazzari, Booz Allen Hamilton

Abstract: After more than a decade of research and development, hardware security remains a hot topic driven by the accelerated integration of electronics into society and safety concerns. Various crises have catapulted the issue to the forefront with both commercial and government organizations are looking for solutions to the impact of hardware issues. Various novel device-level primitives such as physical unclonable functions have been built and refined. These primitives are being increasingly implemented in modern architectures to protect emerging devices. This will address the question of the future research focus: devices or architectures. Experts from across academia, industry and the government will discuss.
